I sat next to a tree munching on my juicy apple. Yeah... the laid back life style, the green grass, clear skies, all of this was Arectonite... Probably the only civilizations cut off from all other civilizations. Now I wouldn't know if all of this was necesarily a good thing, but it sure beats going to war with anyone you pelt in the face with a dirt ball. Yup, I was a trouble maker. But that didn't really bother me. What bothered me was nothing exciting went on, like ever. Well there was that one time... the one time I set a forest fire... but that wasn't ALL my fault. I mean COME ON! How could I have pulled off a trick like blowing up the ugly wooden statue in the middle of the village ALONE? Juke helped to!
"Dado!"Juke yelled.
Yup that's Juke... my best comrade in mischief. We were blond boys. Well MY hair is turning brown, but thats besides the point. It woulnd't really appear weird that we were blond, at least until you find out that the WHOLE VILLAGE are red heads. Now I don't have anything against read heads, but it is pretty weird to live around people who all have the same hair color.
"Come on Dado! Your gonna be late!" He yelled. "And you look like a mess!"
Ugh... that was Juke for ya'. Always on his feet.
"Yes, MOTHER." I snickered.
I ran to my grass hut, and looked into the reflecting water pool. Yeah there is another down side to be secluded from other civilizations. WE DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO MAKE A DECENT MIRROR! Looking into the pool of water I relized that "looking like a mess" was no exageration. My curly hair's curls were everywhere EXCEPT where it would look appealing, my face was covered in dirt, and my hands were still sticky from the apple I had previously eaten.
"Sigh, better take a dip in Lake Serenity..." I said to myself.
I ran as fast as I could, hoping the elders wouldn't be TOO angry if I was just a LITTLE late... As I was running I heard a small pitched squeal. I walked towards the scream. It led me towards a small bush. I saw a faint purple glow. With curious eyes I skimmed through the bush finding a small purple fairy, stuck between two twigs. I freed the fairy. The fairy looked at me with wide eyes, stared a little bit, then flew away towards the lake. Fairies arent a rare sight, at least if your heading towards Lake Serenity. That's pretty much where the fairies and mermaids hang out. Of course the mermaids arent around this time of year, so only the faint lights of fairies are visible. I walked closer towards the water, stripped down to my leathery under garmets, and dived in. The pool was always warm, so baths were always enjoyable. Of course on a normal map it would appear that there would be no way for a mermaid to be able to get from the lake to the ocean, but if you actualy were there at the lake then u would notice a small underwater cave that led to the ocean. But of course there weren't any mermaids today. After watching the fairies do there dancing in the air I washed my face off, got my clothes, put them on of course, and headed back to the village. I ran to the meeting hut and sat down on one of the chairs.
"Your... GASP!.... late...GASP! COUGH! WHEEZ! BLARGH!" The elderly woman suffocatedly said.
"Sorry...murmer" I replied.
"Doefn't maffer..." Another elderly man said. He had lost all of his teeth.
I hated being around the elders... they were always soooo strict.
"Afy waf, thef hafe been frefs cofing fom Goffem to affack uf." He went on. "Fwe neef fomefon foo defever fish meffage foo finfickif." The elder handed me a scroll.
"What does this message say?" I asked.
"If ifs a fwee fo helf fwom finfifisth" He replied.
"Huh?" I asked.
"It....GASP!... is a plea for help... COUWHEEEZ!!!!!" The elderly woman interpretted.
"Nowf gof!" The elderly man said.
I walked out of the hut still a little wet, holding the scroll in my hand.
"So!" Juke said, "What did they say?"
"Gollem... is planning an attack on Arectonite... I need to deliver this scroll to them so they can help us... And your coming with me wether you like it or not!" I said grabbing him and running out of the village with excitement.
"Wait!" Juke said, "Don't we need supplies first?"
Right supplies... get supplies then adventure.
"Dado!"Juke yelled.
